Sunshine Farm Market
Cherries are here! The first taste of summer after a long winter.
These are the Burlatt variety, similar to a Bing, but much earlier. They come from Steve Paganelli’s orchard, which he calls the Cheri Barn. It’s right on the Columbia River, just a bit south of the Gorge Ampitheater.
We got a big load of these in on Saturday for the weekend and they got snatched up so fast we had to bring in more on Monday.
Early Rainiers will be here before this coming weekend, maybe even by Wednesday afternoon!
Also fresh in the market:
• Asparagus. The season is winding down but the spears still look great, so make sure you don’t miss out on your last change for asparagus from Ken Toevs in Quincy. We also have some local certified organic asparagus in from Homestead organics.
• Tomato Plants. We have a selection of big healthy organic plant starts from Gibbs Organic Produce in Leavenworth. It’s not too late to plant! Also basil, rosemary and parsley starts.
• Local Veggies. Butterhead lettuce, salad mix, spinach, arugula, radishes, rhubarb, kale, and carrots—most things are in short supply but we are bringing in what we can!
