Sunshine Farm Market
We have dark cherries back in stock! This is a great looking and great tasting harvest of the “Chelan” variety from Angel Cruz in Mattawa.
“Chelan” is like a Bing, but earlier.

We have Early Robin Cherries!
Early Robins are an early season varietal of the Rainier Cherry, originally discovered in Mattawa in the early 90’s. These cherries are nice and sweet, and have a great texture!
We are expecting to have more dark cherries by Monday, at the latest. The rain last week really took a toll on the area’s cherry supply.
Also Fresh at the Market:
We have the last of the spring asparagus, so come get it while you can!
Local, organic Veggies: Kale, Lettuce, Salad Mix, Arugula, Spinach
Organic, non-local produce: Avocado, Romaine Lettuce, Avocados, Tomatoes, Carrots, Red Spring Onions, Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries, Bananas, Red Potatoes
Cherries are here! The first taste of summer after a long winter.
These are the Burlatt variety, similar to a Bing, but much earlier. They come from Steve Paganelli’s orchard, which he calls the Cheri Barn. It’s right on the Columbia River, just a bit south of the Gorge Ampitheater.
We got a big load of these in on Saturday for the weekend and they got snatched up so fast we had to bring in more on Monday.
Early Rainiers will be here before this coming weekend, maybe even by Wednesday afternoon!
Also fresh in the market:
• Asparagus. The season is winding down but the spears still look great, so make sure you don’t miss out on your last change for asparagus from Ken Toevs in Quincy. We also have some local certified organic asparagus in from Homestead organics.
• Tomato Plants. We have a selection of big healthy organic plant starts from Gibbs Organic Produce in Leavenworth. It’s not too late to plant! Also basil, rosemary and parsley starts.
• Local Veggies. Butterhead lettuce, salad mix, spinach, arugula, radishes, rhubarb, kale, and carrots—most things are in short supply but we are bringing in what we can!
We are planning to be open again on May 23—if not before!
We will have cherries from Mattawa (a little further down south on the Columbia River) as soon as we can get them. In the meantime we will have spring vegetables including salad mix, kale, radishes, bok choy, and asparagus. We will also have local apples from Chelan Fruit Cooperative (2012 crop).
Unfortunately, we are not growing any plant starts this year.
The Honesty Wagon is open! We are stocking the following varieties, at great prices. It’s self-serve. Just drop your check or cash in the red box on the south end of the wagon.
Just a note—when it gets below freezing at night, we have to close the lid on the wagon so the apples don’t freeze, but it’ll be reopened in the morning!
